ABOUT

Ayako Fujitani is a Japanese writer and actress. She was famous for her appearances in Tokyo! (2008), Shiki-Jitsu (2000) and Man from Reno (2014). In addition to acting career, she was known as a writer of both fiction and non-fiction. In 2000, her novella Touhimu (Flee-Dream) was adapted into the film Shiki-Jitsu, in which she also played the starring role and earned the Artistic Award at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival. 

BEFORE FAME

As a teenager, she used to reside in Los Angeles, California, United States, where she studied acting and English. She began her writing career when working for the Japanese magazine Roadshow before her coupled novellas Touhimu (Flee-Dream) and Yakeinu (Burnt Dog) published. Additionally, she made her debut appearance as an actor for the sequels of the Heisei era daikaiju eiga Gamera (1995–1999) series.

PERSONAL LIFE

Her parents are Steven Seagal and Miyako Fujitani. She has a brother, actor Kentaro Seagal, and other half-siblings from her fathers side, including Annaliza, Dominick, Arissa, Savannah and Kunzang Seagal.
