Adam Lambert is an American singer, songwriter and stage actor who was identified as the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to launch a career on a major label in the U.S by The Times. He rose to popularity when becoming the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol in 2009. At the same year, his debut studio album For Your Entertainment was released and reached number three on the US Billboard 200. With a flamboyant, theatrical and androgynous performance style, and a powerful, technically skilled tenor voice with multi-octave range, he has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2011[14] and an Honorary GLAAD Media Award in 2013.
BEFORE FAMESince the age of nine, he performed with Metropolitan Educational Theatre network (now MET2) in local productions of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Fiddler on the Roof. After that, he began more intense acting and vocal coaching as moving from Mesa Verde Middle School to Mount Carmel High School at which he joined in the school's jazz band, competed in the local Air Bands competitions and appeared local professional productions like Hello, Dolly!,Camelot, The Music Man. In 2000, he moved Los Angeles after five weeks entering in California State University, Fullerton.
PERSONAL LIFEHe dated with Sauli Koskinen, a Finnish entertainment reporter and reality TV personality from November 2010 until April 2013. After that, they were announced to be split up amicably and remain friends.
