Alicia Augello Cook, better known as Alicia Keys, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress who is best known for her debut album Songs in A Minor which was a commercial success, selling over 12 million copies worldwide and made her the best-selling new artist and best-selling R&B artist of 2001. Throughout her career, Keys has won numerous awards and sold over 35 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide.

Keys is the only child of Teresa (Augello), a paralegal and part-time actress, and Craig Cook, a flight attendant. Her parents separated when she was two and she was subsequently raised by her mother. In 1985, Keys made an appearance on The Cosby Show at the age of four.

Keys married Swizz Beatz in 2010 and they have two children.
