Anocha Suwichakornpong is well known as a Thai independent film director, screenwriter and producer who gained national attention for her works such as Graceland which was chosen for the 59th Cannes Film Festival's Cinefondation program and also the first Thai short film selected for the Cannes Film Festival and recently her second feature, By the Time It Gets Dark whose script earned her the Prince Claus Fund Film Grant of €15,000 from the CineMart of the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
BEFORE FAMEBorn in Thailand 1976, she lived in England in the 1990’s, where she achieved bachelor's and master's degrees from universities before graduating from the MFA film program at Columbia University. Her feature-length script, The White Room wasa one of 15 projects selected to participate in the Script Clinic.
