Bob Ufer

Michigan legend best known as the chief broadcaster for the Michigan Wolverines football team from 1945 through 1981. He was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor in its inaugural year.He won the Big Ten Conference Championship in the indoor 440-yard dash three times and set a world record in the same event.He and U.S. President Gerald Ford were inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor the same year.

He was a star track and field athlete for the University of Michigan.

His son, Bob Ufer Jr., has been the commissioner of the International Hockey League.
