Cesar Montano

Widely known by his stage name Cesar Montano, Cesar Manhilot is a talented actor and director in Philippines. He was a model in show business before appearing in various B movies. Taking the role of hero José Rizal in the same-name film José Rizal, he became popular widely and received much success. Montano had won numerous awards for his performance and contribution to entertainment industry, including the Best Supporting Actor and the Best Actor at Metro Manila Film Festival, the Best Director at Film Academy of the Philippines Awards, the Best Actor and the Best Director at Gawad Urian Awards, etc. 

Born in Manila, Philippines, Montano is the fifth children in a seven-child family. He attended Lyceum of the Philippines University and major in engineering. During his years at university, he performed as an actor on stage. He started his career with the work of a stuntman before choosing to play leading roles in a few action movies.

He married his first wife Marilyn Polinga and had two children with her before Polinga died in 1993. He a son with actress Teresa Loyzaga but they did not marry. Montano got married to the second wife Sunshine Cruz in 2000 and the couple have three daughters.
