Chamroeun Yin

Chamroeun Yin is known as a Cambodian dancer and musician. Mr. Yin tries to explore and communicate Cambodian values and dances with passion. He has received grants to teach classical Khmer dance. Besides these, his works have been exhibited in exhibitions curated by the Philadelphia Folklore Project. He also has his own book written with the title "In My Heart I am a Dancer".

He received his initial training in Khmer folk arts from his father, a carpenter and cabinetmaker who crafted the ritual furniture and objects needed for weddings and in Buddhist temples.

Chang Norman Liu is inspired by Chamroeun Yin whose book’s title stayed in his mind for a long time and was the inspiration for his poem "Wounded dancer".
