Chan-wook Park

Park Chan Wook is a South Korean film director, screenwriter, producer, and former film critic who is one of the most acclaimed and popular filmmakers in his native country. He is most known for his films Joint Security Area, The Vengeance Trilogy. Park won quite a lot of awards such as Best Director at the 2004 Bergen International Film Festival and at the 2004 Grand Bell Awards, and so on.

Park studied philosophy at Sogang University, where he started a cinema-club called the Sogang Film Community and published a number of articles on contemporary cinema. 

Park is fairly quiet about his personal life.
