Dick Curless

American country singer known as the Baron of Country Music and who is remembered for wearing a patch over one of his eyes. He released singles like "Hard, Hard Traveling Man" in 1970.He was an inspiration for a character in the comic Ghost Rider.In Stephen King's 1971 novel, Salem's Lot, King references Curless' song, "Bury the Bottle With Me."

He hosted a Massachusetts radio show in 1948 and was also part of a local band called Trail Blazers. Later he was drafted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.

He married his wife, Pauline, in 1961.
