| ALBUMWell known as Indonesia’s the most dangerous singer on the ’80s and ’90s a charismatic Indonesian singer/songwriter Iwan Fals is considered as a living legend in Indonesia famous for his gritty-witty ballads including socially aware hit-songs such as Guru Oemar Bakri, Lonteku, Wakil Rakyat. For his great contribution to national music industry, he was awarded Satyalancana, the highest government awards from Jero Wacik, Culture and Tourism Minister of Indonesia. Notably, he was named as a Great Asian Hero by Time magazine in 2002.
BEFORE FAMEBorn as a son of Harsoyo, a soldier and Lies Suudijah, Iwan Fals graduated from Sekolah Tinggi Publisistik and then Jakarta Arts Institute. He often served as a street musician in wedding ceremonies and other social events when he was 13. He was a co-founder of a group named Amburadul with the release of the album 'Perjalanan' in 1979 and also recorded some comedy albums. His first solo album Sarjana Muda was recorded when he signed to Musica Studio in 1981.
PERSONAL LIFEIwan Fals got married Rosanna and currently lives in Cibubur, West Java. The couple has 3 children son Galang Rambu Anarki (died aged only 15), daughter Anissa Cikal Rambu Basae and Rayya Rambu Robbani.
