Jason Derulo, an American singer, songwriter and dancer, rose to fame after beginning his solo career with his debut single Whatcha Say in 2009. He has since gained various achievements, including a Teen Choice Award for Choice R&B Track for In My Head (2010), a BMI Pop Music Award for 50 Most Performed Songs of the Year for Replay (2011) and YouTube Music Award as 50 artists to watch (2015).
BEFORE FAMEAt young ages, he wrote songs for a number of artists, including Diddy, Grant Goan, Danity Kane, Donnie Klang, Sean Kingston, Cassie and Lil Wayne. In 2006, he gained the grand prize on the TV show Showtime at the Apollo before signing a contract with Beluga Heights Records.
