Jessie Mueller

After earning a Joseph Jefferson Award for her portrayal of Carrie Pipperidge in the 2008 Chicago production of Carousel, this stage actress and singer received a 2014 Tony Award for her starring role in the Broadway production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.She first appeared on Broadway in the 2011 revival of the Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner musical On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.She played the role of Cinderella in a 2012 production of the popular Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods.

After graduating from Syracuse University in New York, she performed at the Swan Theatre (in Stratford-upon-Avon, England) and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.

She grew up in Evanston, Illinois, as the child of actors Roger Mueller and Jill Shellabarger Mueller. All three of her siblings (Matt, Andrew, and Abby) also pursued acting careers.
