Legendary San Francisco 49ers quarterback who led the team to four Super Bowl victories after winning a national championship at Notre Dame. He was named Super Bowl MVP three times, selected for the Pro Bowl eight times, and chosen for the 1980s All-Decade Team.During his four Super Bowl matches, he threw 11 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.His successor, Steve Young, served as his back-up quarterback from 1987-1990.


He was invited to Parade magazine's All-American team after two sterling years as the starting quarterback for the Ringgold High School Rams.
