Mai Phuong Thuy was crowned the 10th Miss Vietnam in 2006. After that, she represented Vietnam to compete in Miss World 2006 and reached top seventeenth. She also achieved success and gained more attention from other beauty contests such as Miss Asia -Pacific, Miss Grand Slam. During 2 years as Miss Vietnam, Mai Phuong Thuy did a lot of charity work. She went to remote area, raised foudation with 10 billions Vietnamese Dong in total. Besides, Mai Phuong Thuy also makes her appearance in advertisement, being an MC, actress, model and singer. Many years after her coronation, Mai Phuong Thuy still remains one of the most favorable Miss and participates in social activities frequently
BEFORE FAMEMai Phuong Thuy is the eldest sister in the family. Before becoming Miss Vietnam 2006, Mai Phuong Thuy was the member of New Talent model company. She joined the company when being in grade 11 on the recommendation of a friend. Mai Phuong Thuy gained everyone's appreciation by her high perfomance at school. She passed an entrance exam to Foreign Trade University with the mark 24,5/30 . She also received scholarship 3 times from RMIT University.
