Nicolas Cage, is an American actor and producer, who was known as starring roles in a number of of films, from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action films, such in his early career as Valley Girl (1983), Racing with the Moon (1984) and Birdy (1984).  For his performance as an alcoholic Hollywood writer in Leaving Las Vegas (1995), he earned an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award. 

He was born in an greatly multigenerational artist family, in which his mother, Joy (Vogelsang) was a dancer and choreographer, his paternal grandparents were composer Carmine Coppola and actress Italia Pennino, also, he is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and of actress Talia Shire, and the cousin of directors Roman Coppola and Sofia Coppola, film producer Gian-Carlo Coppola, and actors Robert Carmine and Jason Schwartzman. He enrolled Beverly Hills High School from which many entertainers graduated. From an early age, he fostered a dream to become an actor and took James Dean as the key inspiration for his career. 

Before experiencing three marriages, Cage dated actress Christina Fulton in 1988 and the couple had their son named Weston Coppola Cage on December 26, 1990. He married the first time to actress Patricia Arquette in April 1995 and divorced in 2001. After that, he and singer/songwriter Lisa Marie Presley got married on August 10, 2002 and filed for divorce on November 25 at the same year. Currently, he lives with the third wife Alice Kim, a former waitress, and their son, Kal-El.
