Orpah Winfrey

Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American talk show host, actress, and producer, who is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, one of the highest-rated programs airing from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed as the Queen of All Media and the most influential women in the world by Time magazine, she has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.

Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to an unmarried teenage mother and was raised up by her grandmother. She was molested by her cousin, uncle, and a family friend when she was at nine. While in college, she was crowned Miss Black Tennessee and began co-anchoring the evening news.

After suffering from sexual abuse, Winfrey gave birth at the age of 14 to a boy who died in infancy. She began a relationship with entrepreneur Stedman Graham in 1986.
