Being one of the most highly regarded draft picks in hockey history, A Canadian professional ice hockey player Sidney Patrick Crosby is best known for playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins  and came to mainstream attention as the youngest captain of a National Hockey League team in 2007. For his substantial contribution with exceptional skill, he led the Penguins to the Stanley Cup title in 2009 and won the gold medal in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic. Being outstanding hockey player, he became the seventh player in NHL history to earn all three awards in one year including Hart Memorial Trophy as the most valuable player, the Lester B. Pearson Award and the Pearson Award.

Sidney was born in 1987 in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, to his father, Troy, a goalie drafted by the Montreal Canadiens. As a child, he was absorbed in playing many sports such as skating, baseball for many years in addition to hockey. Before starring in the Pittsburgh Penguins he shot to fame previously when playing for his hometown youth club at the age of 10, enrolling at the Shattuck-St and participating in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, especially becoming the only under 18 player to join the Canadian Junior Hockey Team.
