Landing on entertainment field as a Mexican singer, published author, actress and entrepreneur, Thalía has sung in various languages including Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Filipino. She is recognized as the most sucessful and influential female Mexican singer, being the "Queen of Latin Pop" by international media. Besides her sucess as a recording artist, she has also had a sucessful career in acting and starred in a variety of soap operas that aired in over 180 countries. On December 5, 2013, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as a recognition for her sucessful career in music and entertainment.

Thalía went to Liceo Franco Mexicano elementary school and learned to speak French fluently at a very young age there. A year before her father's death, she appeared in a Mexican film La guerra de los pasteles ("War of Cakes") in 1976. she used to be incorporated as a vocalist in a children's group named Pac Man (later named Din-din) when at the age of nine. After Din-din broke up in 1984, she participated as a solo artist in two annual music festivals of Juguemos a cantar.Then in 1986, she became a member of the band Timbiriche.

Thalía's work is mostly influenced by Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Sade, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, The Doors and Kylie Minogue. She married music executive Tommy Mottola in 2000 and the couple has two children, daughter Sabrina Sakae, and son Matthew Alejandro. Unfortunately, she has had a series of familial conflicts, especially with her sister Laura Zapata.
