

ABOUT
Being one of the most influential and prolific inventors in the history of science and considered as Godfather of industry, an American inventor Thomas Alva Edison created a numerous innovations such as the electric light bulb and the phonograph, most of which greatly influenced life around the world. As a savvy businessman, he held a record over 1000 patents covering key innovations and minor improvements in wide range of fields. For his contributions to industry, he was honored with lots of awards including Technical Grammy Award in 2010, Congressional Gold Medal in 1928, etc.
BEFORE FAMEThomas Edison was the youngest children of seven siblings to Samuel and Nancy Edison, born in Milan Ohio. He was extremely interested in reading books on a wide range of subjects, which created a foundation to serve him throughout his life. In his early career, he started publishing his own small newspaper, called the Grand Trunk Herald and first conducted chemical experiments in a small laboratory. At the age of 15, he learned to work as a telegraph operator and gradually became familiar with electrical science.
PERSONAL LIFEAfter ending his first marriage with 16-year-old Mary Stilwell and having 3 children in 1884 after 13 years together due to Mary’s death, Thomas Edison got married the 20-year-old Mina Miller in 1986. They also had 3 children together.
